What in AMUSE. is produced with AI systems, under which rules, and who is responsible.
AMUSE. is produced by a newsroom that uses AI systems to research, draft, translate and check stories. The editorial rules those systems follow (sources, verification, language, what must never be published) are written and owned by people, and the publisher is responsible for everything on this site.
What the systems do
Rules by people. Drafts by machines. Responsibility by the publisher.
They read public sources, draft stories in English and translate them into the other five languages, following a style guide that requires at least three sources per story, attribution for every figure and a neutral register for sensitive subjects. Every story is checked automatically against those rules before it goes live; stories that fail are held.
What people do
People set the rules, decide what the platform covers, review flagged stories, handle corrections and answer readers. Sensitive stories (deaths, accidents, food-safety incidents, legal proceedings, allegations against identifiable people) are held for human review by default.
Images and recipes
Photographs come from licensed stock and open-licence sources and are credited. We do not publish AI-generated images presented as photographs. Recipes are rewritten in our own words from a named chef, book or tradition, or signed "Amuse Kitchen" when they are ours.
