Jersey Mike's confirms four London sites for its UK debut
The US sub chain, Subway's closest rival with 3,300 North American stores, opens its first UK restaurant on Soho's Argyll Street this November.

Jersey Mike's has confirmed four central London locations for its UK debut, with the first restaurant opening on Soho's Argyll Street this November.
The brand revealed the Argyll Street site last month, saying three further locations were lined up. Those have now been named as New Oxford Street, near Tottenham Court Road; Baker Street in Marylebone; and Cranbourn Street in Covent Garden.
Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jersey Mike's is Subway's closest competitor by store count, with 3,300 locations across North America. The chain specialises in made-to-order hot and cold subs, with meat and cheese sliced in-store, vegetables prepped daily and bread baked throughout service. Its signature "juice," a mix of red wine vinegar and oil, is part of the "Mike's Way" finish: onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oregano and salt piled on top.
We wanted to start right in the heart of London, and these sites put us in four brilliant, high-footfall locations across the capital.
Four sites to open the UK market
The expansion is led by Jersey Mike's chairman Peter Cancro, whose connection to the brand goes back to its original Jersey Shore sandwich shop. "We're incredibly excited to finally reveal the first four locations that will introduce Jersey Mike's to the UK," said Satnam Leihal, chief executive of Jersey Mike's UK & Ireland. "We wanted to start right in the heart of London, and these sites put us in four brilliant, high-footfall locations across the capital."
"Argyll Street will be the first opportunity for people here to experience what has made Jersey Mike's such a loved brand in the US, but it's only the beginning," Leihal added. "We have ambitious plans for the UK and Ireland and can't wait to start welcoming our first customers through the doors this November."
A crowded line for American imports
Jersey Mike's joins a run of US fast-food and fast-casual brands pushing into Britain this year, from Slim Chickens opening its first UK drive-thru to international debuts further up the price scale, such as 99 Sushi Bar's arrival in Mayfair. Exact opening dates for each Jersey Mike's site, along with the UK menu and launch activity, are due in the coming weeks.
