Michelin adds 22 restaurants to its UK and Ireland guide

The October update adds 22 restaurants to the selection, with London Italian dining prominent, but awards no Stars or Bib Gourmands.

Michelin October additions put 22 restaurants into the Great Britain and Ireland selection. London supplies a large share, including several Italian openings, but inclusion does not mean a Star or Bib Gourmand has been awarded.

The guide highlights Eden at Hever Castle, Impala in Soho and the revived Orrery by Pierre Minotti in Marylebone. Eden uses estate produce in George Blogg's tasting menu; Impala cooks over fire with North African and Mediterranean references; Orrery returns to classical combinations under Pierre Minotti.

Nineteen more names complete the intake, including IGNI, Idalia, Levan, Ornella, Rosina, Teal by Sally Abé and Trèsind in London, plus restaurants in Clifton, Lindfield, Haywards Heath, Farnham and Hastings. Michelin describes their cooking but publishes no score.

London dominates the additions

The London group ranges from Italian restaurants Ornella, Rosina and Tiella to Greek Zylia and Indian Trèsind. The breadth matters more than a fashionable label: this monthly update is an inventory of restaurants inspectors recommend, not a ranking.

Michelin adds restaurants through the year after anonymous visits. Stars and Bib Gourmands remain tied to the annual ceremony. The distinction is important: a listing is recognition, but not a Star. Inspectors pay their bills and assess product quality, technique, harmony, personality in the cooking and consistency.

Selection comes before awards

The update lands in a busy guide season. AMUSE has already covered the Michelin Guide Italy 2027 ceremony in Piacenza; Britain and Ireland use a different calendar, with monthly discoveries separated from annual distinctions.

For diners, the practical result is 22 new searchable addresses. For restaurants, it is a place in Michelin's database and the possibility, not the promise, of later recognition. October's message is narrower than a star reveal: inspectors visited, paid and decided these kitchens merited inclusion.

The guide says the list can change as restaurants open, close or alter direction. Diners should therefore treat the online selection as a current working record.
