Michelin Guide Italy 2027 to crown its stars in Piacenza

Inspectors will reveal the new selection on 12 November at the Teatro Municipale, the third year running the ceremony has landed in Emilia-Romagna after Modena and Parma.

The Michelin Guide Italy 2027 will crown its new stars on 12 November in Piacenza, Michelin confirmed, moving the ceremony to the Teatro Municipale for the third Emilia-Romagna edition in a row.

Piacenza follows Parma and Modena as host cities, continuing the guide's recent habit of staging its biggest night of the year in the region most associated with Italian food culture, from Parmigiano Reggiano to Culatello di Zibello.

The ceremony will stream live on the Michelin Guide's YouTube channel and the Michelin Italia Facebook page, Michelin said, with the full selection published on the guide's website and app once the event ends.

Piacenza is the third Emilia-Romagna city in a row to host Michelin's biggest night of the year.

Fifteen names already confirmed

Inspectors have already added 15 restaurants to the 2027 selection ahead of the ceremony, among them Il Ginkgo in Cremona, part of a preview round the guide now runs before its main event each autumn. The additions give an early read on where inspectors are focusing this cycle, though stars themselves are reserved for the night itself.

Sicily looks set for a strong showing too: regional press has reported interest in new entries stretching from Palermo to Lampedusa, a geographic spread that would mark a shift from the island's traditional cluster of stars around Taormina and Palermo's historic centre.

A regional food valley on display

Hosting the ceremony outside Milan and Rome has let Michelin lean on each host region's own producers and restaurants for the surrounding events, and Piacenza, sitting between Lombardy and Emilia, gives the 2027 edition a base in Italy's so-called food valley.

The last two ceremonies, in Modena and Parma, added dozens of new stars between them, including a rare new three-star promotion in each region. Whether Piacenza produces as many new names, or confirms the guide's recent caution on three-star promotions, will only become clear on the night itself.

For now, the date and the venue are set. The stars themselves stay firmly under wraps until 12 November.
