Best restaurants in Lisbon 2026: 15 tables worth booking
From Belcanto's two-star tasting menu to a cash-only tavern where nothing costs over €20: 15 Lisbon tables checked against the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026, with prices and booking tips.

The best restaurants in Lisbon in 2026 come down to 15 tables, from three two-star tasting counters to a cash-only tavern where no dish costs more than €20, checked against the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026. If you book only one, make it Belcanto: two Michelin stars and a place on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list.
Best restaurants in Lisbon: how this list works
The Michelin Guide Portugal 2026, presented in Funchal on 10 March, lists nine two-star and 44 one-star restaurants nationwide. Three of the two-star tables are in Lisbon, and one of them, Fifty Seconds, earned its second star this year. The city also took the Opening of the Year award. This list mixes that fine dining with the seafood halls and taverns locals actually queue for.
In Lisbon, a €20 tavern plate and a two-star tasting counter belong on the same list.
Prices are per person in euros, before drinks, taken from menus and recent reporting; tasting menus in Lisbon change often, so check when you book. For the dishes behind these kitchens, from bacalhau to bifana, start with our guide to what to eat in Lisbon.
Belcanto, Chiado
José Avillez's flagship at Rua Serpa Pinto 10A holds two Michelin stars and sits at number 42 on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, according to the restaurant. The cooking reworks Portuguese classics with French precision, backed by a cellar of more than 350 wines, about 80% of them Portuguese.
Diners choose between a tasting menu and a short à la carte format; a July 2026 review put the tasting menu at €295. It opens Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. Book as far ahead as the calendar allows.
Henrique Sá Pessoa, Amoreiras
Alma closed its Chiado dining room at the end of 2025, and on 17 February 2026 Henrique Sá Pessoa reopened at Páteo Bagatela under his own name, with most of the same team. The move kept the two stars. Three menus run side by side: Encontros at €140, and Clássicos and Costa a Costa at €220 each.
Fifty Seconds, Parque das Nações
The name is the time the lift takes to climb 120 metres up the Vasco da Gama Tower. Chef Rui Silvestre's Fauna e Flora menu draws on his Mozambican and Indian heritage and on Portuguese fish, and in March it brought the restaurant its second star. The menu is listed at €235. Ask for a window table facing the Tagus.
JNcQUOI Table, Avenida da Liberdade
Ten seats around a U-shaped counter at Avenida da Liberdade 189, below its sister restaurant, and the Michelin Guide's Opening of the Year for Portugal in 2026. Chef Filipe Carvalho cooks a single nightly menu of Atlantic fish and seafood. The price is not published; bookings go by email through the JNcQUOI website, Tuesday to Saturday.
Cura, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz
Rodolfo Lavrador has held a Michelin star here every year since 2021 with a menu built on Portuguese produce and old regional recipes. There are two tasting formats, the longer Percurso and the shorter Passo, both also offered vegetarian, with menus from about €195.
Loco, Estrela
Alexandre Silva's one-star room faces the Basílica da Estrela and serves a single surprise menu of 16 moments, cooked to micro-seasons with a zero-waste policy. Expect around €160 before drinks; the pairing list leans on natural wines and house ferments.
Marlene, Jardim do Tabaco
Marlene Vieira cooks at an open central counter in the glass building beside the Lisbon Cruise Terminal. Her two tasting menus start at €95 and €130 before wine, and every one is served with cornbread from her grandmother's recipe. Dinner only, Wednesday to Saturday. One Michelin star.
Epur, Chiado
Vincent Farges, a French chef long settled in Lisbon, runs a one-star dining room on Largo da Academia Nacional de Belas Artes with views over the Baixa rooftops. The Inspirações menu costs €150 and the longer Epurismo €185, with wine pairings at €80 and €100.
Encanto, Chiado
José Avillez's second entry on this list is fully vegetarian: around 12 courses of vegetables, pulses, seaweed, mushrooms and cheese from small Portuguese farms, on Largo de São Carlos. It holds a Michelin star and a Green Star. The menu was priced at €155 in late 2025.
2Monkeys, Torel
Fourteen seats around an open kitchen in the old wine cellar of the Torel Palace hotel, run by Vítor Matos and Guilherme Spalk. The surprise tasting menu costs €220 and is designed to be as playful as it is precise. One Michelin star; there are no tables, only the counter.
Sála de João Sá, Baixa
João Sá's one-star restaurant at Rua dos Bacalhoeiros 103 is the best value among Lisbon's starred rooms: a €70 menu of starter, main and dessert with snacks and bread, alongside three tasting menus. Dinner Tuesday to Saturday, reservation required.
Yōso, Alcântara
Brazilian chef Habner Gomes serves a kaiseki-style omakase to ten diners at Rampa das Necessidades 6, built on Portuguese coastal fish such as sea bream, eel and Azorean bonito. It has held a Michelin star since 2024 and sits a price bracket below most of its starred peers. Book four to six weeks ahead.
Prado, Sé
António Galapito opened Prado in 2018 in a former factory on Travessa das Pedras Negras, below the cathedral, with a daily-changing menu of shared plates from Portuguese farms and boats. The Michelin Guide recommends it in the moderate €€ bracket. Natural wines, lunch Thursday to Saturday.
Taberna da Rua das Flores, Chiado
André Magalhães's tavern at Rua das Flores 103 takes no reservations and only cash, and no dish on the blackboard costs more than €20. Stews, fried fish and petiscos change daily. Arrive before the 18:00 opening; waits can run past an hour. The same home-cooking logic drives our arroz de pato recipe.
Cervejaria Ramiro, Intendente
The seafood hall at Avenida Almirante Reis 1 remains the city's reference for garlic prawns, clams and brown crab, finished with a steak roll. Expect €25 to €50 a head, more if you order carabineiros by the kilo. Online booking requires a €25 deposit, deducted from the bill; closed Mondays.

How we chose
To pick the best restaurants in Lisbon, we started from the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026 and weighed it against recent menus, prices and reporting, keeping one list for tasting counters and neighbourhood tables. We left out Cascais and Sintra. Every restaurant was checked as open, with its address and prices, on 27 September 2026.
