Deliranto to reopen in Andorra's Grand Plaza hotel in 2027
Pep Moreno's Michelin-starred restaurant leaves Salou on 31 October and returns in a five-star hotel in Andorra la Vella, where the chef also takes charge of the group's kitchens.

Deliranto, Pep Moreno's Michelin-starred restaurant in Salou, will reopen inside the Grand Plaza Hotel & Wellness in Andorra la Vella in the second half of 2027, and the chef is taking over the kitchens of the whole hotel group on the way.
Moreno and Israel Martínez, chief executive of the Grand Plaza, presented the agreement on Monday, according to the Andorran newspaper Altaveu. It settles the question left open in September, when the chef announced that Deliranto would leave Salou after failing to find premises or investors in the Camp de Tarragona. The last service on the Costa Daurada is still 31 October.
The move is more than a change of address. Moreno becomes executive chef of Plaza Hotels & Resorts, the chain that runs the five-star hotel, with the job of rethinking the food across its properties. Altaveu reports that he starts in December.
A star belongs to an address; the chef only gets to take the story with him.
Deliranto in Andorra: the timetable
The first thing to open will not be Deliranto. Instants, the hotel's street-level restaurant, closes for works between February and April and returns in spring as a casual format that the partners describe as the little brother. The Andorran outlet Alto puts its prices at €3–4 for tapas, €20–30 for plates and €60–70 for tasting menus.
Deliranto itself goes into the first-floor room now occupied by Sottovoce. The companies say the second half of 2027; Altaveu narrows that to between June and August, with June as the target.
The concept is the one that has run in Salou since 2017: tasting menus staged around stories, with The Little Prince as the first. What changes is the larder. “We bring to Andorra a way of understanding gastronomy based on creativity, emotion and the ability to surprise,” Moreno said in the announcement, which promises mountain produce and local suppliers.
The star stays behind, the ambition does not
The Michelin star won in 2019 and the Repsol Sun do not travel: both belong to the address on Calle Llevant and lapse when it closes. Moreno told Altaveu that the goal is to win the star back. Martínez called the deal “a country project”, which is how hoteliers tend to describe a restaurant they hope will bring visitors up the valley.
For Catalonia the arithmetic is simpler. El Periódico counted it as one more star lost to the region, and Salou is left with none. Andorra la Vella gains a known name in a capital more used to shoppers than to tasting menus.
The Michelin Guide Spain is presented each November. A summer opening would leave inspectors only a few months to judge the new room before the next edition. Until then, Deliranto has a hotel, a timetable and no dining room.
