Flow, a Makati restaurant open less than two years, earns the Philippines' newest Michelin star as Michelin Guide Philippines 2027 debuts, with Helm keeping its two stars for a second year running.

Michelin unveiled the results on 29 October at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts, the second edition of a guide that first reached the country a year earlier.

Inspectors handed out ten stars this year, the same total as in 2026, but moved one restaurant onto the list. Flow, led by chef Kevin Jonathan Uy, is the sole newcomer among the one-star group.

The Philippines "continues to impress with the way its culinary scene is evolving."

Michelin Guide Philippines 2027 by the numbers

Helm, chef Josh Boutwood's restaurant in Makati, remains the country's only Two Michelin Star address. Eight one-star restaurants kept their rating from last year: Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inatô, Kása Palma, Linamnam and Toyo Eatery.

The wider selection grew faster than the star list. Michelin named 127 restaurants in total across Manila, Cebu, Pampanga and Cavite, including 31 Bib Gourmand addresses, eight of them new, and 86 Michelin-Selected restaurants, eighteen of them first entries. Filipino cuisine makes up close to 60% of the new names.

Gwendal Poullennec, the Michelin Guide's international director, said the Philippines "continues to impress with the way its culinary scene is evolving."

Four special awards beyond the stars

Michelin also handed out four special awards. Chef Frances Tariga of Tadhanà took Opening of the Year, a category new to the Philippine guide. Chef Francis Lacson of Digámo in Marikina won the Young Chef award, restaurant manager Clyde Joshua Zafra of Tito Boy in Pampanga took the Service award, and Automat's Ron Job Sanchez won for cocktails.

Chef José Luis González of Gallery by Chele in Taguig became the first person in the Philippines invited on stage as a Mindful Voice, recognized for sourcing roughly 90% of ingredients locally through work with farmers, fisherfolk and the International Rice Research Institute.

Michelin first reached the Philippines in October 2025 with 108 restaurants; this second edition adds nineteen more without touching last year's star holders. One newcomer earns a star, none lose one, and the list beneath keeps widening.
