La Rei Natura joins Les Grandes Tables du Monde

La Rei Natura, Michelangelo Mammoliti's three-Michelin-star restaurant in Serralunga d'Alba, has joined Les Grandes Tables du Monde. It was the only Italian name among 23 new members announced on 12 October at the association's annual congress in Majorca.

The intake takes the association, founded in Paris in 1954, to 208 member restaurants in 29 countries, according to the French trade site Un œil en salle. The 2027 edition of its guide was presented at the same congress. It is a club of houses rather than a ranking: nobody is placed first, and membership is the whole verdict.

Italy now counts 30 members, Italia a Tavola reported on 15 October. The list includes Osteria Francescana in Modena, Le Calandre in Rubano, Dal Pescatore in Canneto sull'Oglio, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, La Pergola in Rome and Da Vittorio in Brusaporto. Piedmont was already represented by Piazza Duomo in Alba, Antica Corona Reale in Cervere and Villa Crespi on Lake Orta.

A club badge rarely fills tables; it tells the trade who now counts as a peer.

How La Rei Natura reached three stars

The restaurant sits inside Il Boscareto Resort & Spa, among the Barolo vineyards of the Langhe. The Michelin Guide awarded it a third star in the Italian edition presented on 19 November 2025, which took the country's three-star total to 15. In 2025 it also received three knives at The Best Chef Awards.

Mammoliti, born in Giaveno, near Turin, in 1985, worked with Gualtiero Marchesi at L'Albereta and trained in France with Alain Ducasse, Pierre Gagnaire, Yannick Alléno and Marc Meneau. He returned to Piedmont in 2014 to run La Madernassa in Guarene and left it in 2022 to concentrate on La Rei Natura. His cooking puts vegetables at the centre and draws on neurogastronomy, building dishes around taste memory.

Mammoliti called the membership an important step in the restaurant's growth, according to ANSA. Valentina Dogliani, who receives guests as the house's host, described it as recognition of great value for the business path the restaurant has taken.

Who else joined Les Grandes Tables du Monde

The other 22 newcomers come from 12 countries. France added four houses, among them Fanny Rey and Jonathan Wahid's Auberge de Saint-Rémy and Le Pressoir d'Argent Gordon Ramsay in Bordeaux. The Netherlands added three, including Soenil Bahadoer's GEM. Providence in Los Angeles, Lasarte in Barcelona, The Dolder Grand in Zurich, Taïrroir in Taipei and Turk in Istanbul also entered.

For the Langhe the timing is convenient: the Alba white truffle fair runs until 6 December, and the hills south of Alba now hold two members of the association. A club badge rarely fills more tables than a third star does; what it changes is the company La Rei Natura keeps.
