Michelin Guide Texas 2026: every star, the full list
Nineteen restaurants hold one star in the third Texas edition. Goldee's Bar-B-Q gives Fort Worth its first, Austin adds Fabrik and Kappo Kappo, and Houston gains none.

The Michelin Guide Texas 2026, released on 8 October, lists 19 restaurants with one star: three are new and none has two or three. The headline entry is Goldee's Bar-B-Q, the first starred restaurant in Fort Worth, joined by Fabrik and Kappo Kappo in Austin.
This is the third edition of the Texas guide and the first announced without a gala: the results came by press release, as we reported when Michelin Guide Texas dropped its ceremony. The full selection has 149 restaurants in 30 types of cuisine: 19 with one star, 54 Bib Gourmands and 76 recommended. Six Bib Gourmands and 16 recommended addresses are new.
By city, Austin has seven stars, Houston five, San Antonio three, Dallas two, and Fort Worth and Spring one each. Four of the 19 are barbecue restaurants. This is also the last edition covered by the $2.7m contract that brought Michelin to Texas, and the Houston news site Chron reports that it is unclear whether the guide will continue after 2026.
Three editions in, Texas has 19 stars, and four of them smell of post oak.
Goldee's Bar-B-Q, Fort Worth: the first new star of the Michelin Guide Texas 2026
New, promoted from Bib Gourmand. Goldee's stands at 4645 Dick Price Road, on the edge of Fort Worth. Michelin says a group of friends founded it in 2019. The inspectors single out the Black Angus brisket, cooked slowly over local post oak, the turkey, the jalapeño-cheddar sausage and the banana pudding, and they warn of limited opening hours and a queue counted in hours. The Dallas Morning News notes that Goldee's had held a Bib Gourmand in both previous editions. We covered the story in Goldee's Michelin star is the first for Fort Worth.
Fabrik, Austin
New, promoted to one star. Chef Je Wallerstein runs Fabrik with her husband, Silas, in a new space in the Tarrytown neighbourhood. The menu is entirely plant-based and built on produce from Texas farms. The inspectors name mushrooms, beets and corn as the centre of the plate and mention a pairing of biodynamic wines. Michelin files it under vegan cuisine, and it is the only restaurant with that label among the state's 19 stars.
Kappo Kappo, Austin
New, and starred on its first appearance in the guide. Twin brothers Haru and Gohei Kishi cook at a counter inside the Austin Proper Hotel. Michelin describes a lively room, not a hushed omakase, and French-Japanese dishes: a gougère with A5 wagyu and toro tartare, and a terrine of Texas grapefruit. It is the second Japanese counter with a star in Austin, after Craft Omakase.
Austin: five stars retained
Barley Swine (contemporary), Craft Omakase (Japanese), Hestia (American), InterStellar BBQ and LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue (both barbecue) keep the stars they have held since the first Texas guide in 2024. With the two newcomers, Austin has seven of the 19, more than any other city. Barley Swine also takes one of the four special awards: its general manager, Stefan Davis, receives the service award.
Houston and Spring: six stars, none new
Houston keeps five: BCN Taste & Tradition (Spanish), Le Jardinier Houston (French), March (creative), Musaafer (Indian) and Tatemó (Mexican). CorkScrew BBQ, in Spring, north of the city, keeps the sixth star of the metropolitan area. No Houston restaurant gained a star, but the city collects five of the six new Bib Gourmands, nine of the 16 new recommended restaurants and three of the four special awards. Chron notes one exit: the barbecue restaurant Brisket & Rice no longer appears in the guide.
San Antonio: three stars retained
Mixtli (Mexican), starred since 2024, and Isidore (American) and Nicōsi (creative), both starred in 2025, hold their places. The city adds two recommended restaurants, Lovers Pizzeria and Petit Coquin, according to CultureMap's list of the 16 additions.
Dallas: two stars retained
Tatsu Dallas, the Japanese restaurant of Tatsuya Sekiguchi in Deep Ellum, has held its star since 2024. Mamani, in Uptown, won its star in 2025 less than two months after opening, the Dallas Morning News recalls; Michelin lists its cuisine as contemporary. Dallas gains no star this year. Its new entries are a Bib Gourmand, Resident Taqueria, and three recommended restaurants, Fond, Mābo and Olōyō, plus Jashan in Plano.
The two stars that left the list
Texas had 18 stars in 2025. Three additions should give 21, and the guide lists 19. Two Austin names are gone. Olamaie closed on 19 July, according to the public radio station KUT. La Barbecue moves down from one star to the recommended category, according to Chron. Michelin's press release mentions neither.
The 2026 listing shows no Green Star either. Michelin presents a new programme called Mindful Voices, with five entries in Texas according to the Houston station KHOU.
New Bib Gourmands and special awards
The Bib Gourmand marks good cooking at moderate prices. In Texas, the Dallas Morning News says, that means two courses plus wine or dessert for about $50 before tax and tip. Six of the 54 are new. The four special awards follow them in the list below.
- Bib Gourmand: Resident Taqueria, Dallas (Mexican)
- Bib Gourmand: Bar Buena, Houston (Mexican)
- Bib Gourmand: Khói Barbecue, Houston (barbecue)
- Bib Gourmand: Kitchen Rumors, Houston (fusion)
- Bib Gourmand: Murray's Pizza & Wine, Houston (pizza)
- Bib Gourmand: Xolo, Houston (Mexican)
- Exceptional Cocktails Award: Angel Bautista, Xolo, Houston
- Sommelier Award: Jessica Cano, Sushi Horiuchi, Houston
- Young Chef/Culinary Professional Award: Jacques Varon and Max Lappe, Baso, Houston
- Service Award: Stefan Davis, Barley Swine, Austin

How we chose
This list reproduces the one-star selection of the Michelin Guide Texas 2026 as Michelin published it on 8 October 2026. The order is ours, with the new stars first and the rest grouped by city. Cuisine labels are Michelin's. We give no menu prices because the guide publishes only price bands. Every name was checked on 9 October 2026 against Michelin's own list and press release and against the Texas press cited in the sources.
