Romy steakhouse replaces Little Prince in SoHo on 29 September
Cobi Levy turns his old bistro at 199 Prince Street into a 50-seat steakhouse open until 1 a.m., with chef Lucrezia Stella and Kaluga caviar at $150.

Romy steakhouse opens on Tuesday 29 September at 199 Prince Street in SoHo, in the room where Cobi Levy ran the bistro Little Prince, with a 20-ounce Wagyu ribeye at $195 as its headline price.
Levy is converting his own former restaurant rather than handing over the lease, Time Out New York reported on 24 September. City filings described by What Now New York and summarised by Hoodline in April set out roughly 50 seats, a full liquor licence and dinner plus late-night service from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day.
The kitchen is led by Lucrezia Stella, whose background includes her family's restaurants in Rome and a Michelin-starred kitchen on the Amalfi Coast. The menu starts at the raw bar, with Kumamoto oysters under a cucumber and green apple mignonette, tuna tartare with gochujang and pineapple, and hamachi in leche de tigre with lemongrass and plum.
Levy is not selling the address; he is betting it can carry a $195 ribeye.
What the Romy steakhouse menu costs
The steaks explain the change of name. Alongside the Westholme Farms Wagyu ribeye there is a 12-ounce Niman Ranch New York strip au poivre and a dry-aged Snake River Farms Wagyu porterhouse, both without a published price. Kaluga caviar comes with onion-chive dip and house-made potato chips for $150.
The rest of the list leans Italian and coastal: halibut with blood orange, lobster with sage-lemon butter, bucatini with San Marzano tomatoes and aged Parmesan. The Infatuation, which listed Romy on 4 September without having eaten there, also mentions a crispy lasagna with black truffle and taleggio.
Rafael de Cárdenas redesigned the room in oxblood and black lacquer, burled wood, dark marble and bronze, with artwork by George Condo. Cocktails come from Miroo Kim, formerly of Atomix; the wine programme is run by Adam Waddell, from Eleven Madison Park, and Spencer Choi-Schagrin, from Jean-Georges.
From SoHo bistro to $195 ribeye
Little Prince was a neighbourhood bistro that came back after a pandemic hiatus, as Haute Living reported in 2022, and later went through an ownership dispute settled in court filings in 2025, according to Hoodline. Levy's other projects include Lola Taverna, Cucina Alba and, since early 2025, Alba in Los Angeles.
The timing sets Romy against another SoHo debut: Thomas Straker's first American restaurant, at 59 Grand Street, which Eater New York expected to open this week. Downtown has already added Daniel Humm's à la carte restaurant in the West Village this season. Whether a 50-seat room can sell a $195 steak at midnight on a weeknight is the question Prince Street starts answering on 29 September.
