Yield opens a third natural wine bar in Angel
The Stoke Newington favourite, fresh off a 'Coolest Neighbourhood' nod for its flagship, adds a smaller Essex Road site built for both drinking in and taking wine home.

Yield, the natural wine bar that built its name in Stoke Newington, opens a third London site this month at 10a Essex Road in Angel.
The new room sits on the same stretch of Essex Road as the restaurant Jolene, and follows the format of Yield's existing Highbury Corner site on St Paul's Road rather than the larger flagship on Newington Green, which was named one of London's "Coolest Neighbourhoods" for 2026 earlier this year, a title the group has leaned on in its own marketing ever since the list came out.
Essex Road offers both eat-in and takeaway: wines can be drunk on site or bought to go, alongside cheese, charcuterie and nibbles. "We'll do both eat-in/drink-in and takeaway, with wines to take away as well as to enjoy on site," the team says. "There'll still be plenty of wine, cheese, charcuterie and nibbles, just a smaller, more carefully selected range."
A third wine shop and bar, built to move faster than the original.
A smaller pour than the flagship
That smaller range is the point: where the original shop stocks a sprawling natural list alongside a full deli counter, Essex Road is built to move faster, serving a neighbourhood that already has Jolene, and now a wave of new restaurant and bar openings across London this autumn, within a few minutes' walk of the new site.
The Highbury Corner branch opened in 2021 as Yield's first expansion beyond Newington Green, pairing the same wine-shop-and-bar format with a shorter deli list than the original. Essex Road borrows that template rather than the flagship's sprawling one, keeping staff and stock lean.
Three addresses, one natural list
Running three sites keeps Yield's buying power concentrated even as each room's range shrinks, letting the group hold onto smaller-producer bottles that a single shop might struggle to turn over before they're gone.
Whether Angel takes to a tighter version of Newington Green's format as quickly as Highbury Corner did is what the next few months of trade on Essex Road will show.
