Tresind Studio keeps its three Michelin stars in Dubai

The Indian restaurant holds its rank as the only one of its kind in the world with the Michelin Guide's top rating, confirmed again at the 2026 Dubai ceremony.

Tresind Studio has kept its three Michelin stars at the 2026 Dubai guide, confirming its place as the only Indian restaurant anywhere in the world with the top rating. The fifth edition of the Michelin Guide Dubai was revealed on 6 October at a ceremony at Atlantis, The Royal.

Tresind Studio first reached three stars in the 2025 edition, promoted from two. This year's guide keeps it there alongside FZN by Bjorn Frantzen, the European-cuisine restaurant also at Atlantis The Royal, which entered the guide at three stars in 2025 and held that rank too. Three stars are Michelin's highest honour, awarded to roughly 140 restaurants worldwide.

Every starred restaurant in this year's selection is in our Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 full list.

Omotenashi: the guest should feel cared for, not just fed.

The wider 2026 selection runs to 122 restaurants: 20 with stars (two three-star, four two-star, 14 one-star), plus 22 Bib Gourmand picks. Nineteen restaurants are new to the guide this year, including Barrafina Dubai, Carbone Dubai and China Tang Dubai.

Two stars for the first time

Among the two-star tier, three restaurants kept their rank from last year: Il Ristorante - Niko Romito, Row on 45 and STAY by Yannick Alleno. One restaurant moved up: Orfali Bros, run by brothers Mohammed, Wassim and Omar Orfali, rose from Bib Gourmand status to two stars, becoming the first Middle Eastern restaurant anywhere to reach that rank.

At one star, 14 restaurants were listed, including new entries Birch and Kigo. Kigo's chef Akinori Tanigawa also picked up the night's Service Award; he described his approach as omotenashi, the idea that a guest should feel cared for, not just fed.

Other special awards went to Ninad Jani of Avatara (Sommelier Award), Remy Marquignon of Ossiano (Young Chef Award), chef Gonzalo Platero's Window at Al Serkal Avenue (Opening of the Year) and Zahra Erfanian Azmoodeh of Carbone (Exceptional Cocktail Award).

What the rating recognises

Tresind Studio's menu is built around a tasting format that reworks Indian regional dishes and techniques for a fine-dining register, a format the inspectors have now backed for a second straight year. Holding three stars twice running is harder than winning them once: guides re-inspect every listed restaurant annually, and demotions are common in the year after a promotion.

Dubai's guide has grown fast since its 2022 launch, adding restaurants and nationalities each year as the city's dining scene has expanded beyond hotel fine dining into standalone, chef-led kitchens. Next year's edition will show whether Tresind Studio can make it three years at the top, and whether any of this year's new one-star entries follow Orfali Bros' path upward.
