Claude Bosi to close Brooklands, return to Michelin House
The two-Michelin-star rooftop restaurant at The Peninsula London shuts in January 2027, and the chef heads back to the Bibendum building in Chelsea.

Claude Bosi will close Brooklands, his two-Michelin-star restaurant on the roof of The Peninsula London, in January 2027, and return to the Michelin House building in Chelsea for a new project.
Brooklands opened on the hotel's eighth floor in October 2023 and won two Michelin stars within its first year, a rare pace even by London standards. Bosi has given no reason for the closure, and no exact last service date has been set. He thanked the hotel for the opportunity to build the restaurant there.
"I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved at Brooklands," Bosi said in a statement reported by Restaurant Online. "Lucy and I are now looking forward to the next chapter, building on Josephine and bringing Michelin House to life."
Three years, two Michelin stars, one closure — Bosi trades a hotel rooftop for the building that made him famous.
A second chapter at Bibendum
Michelin House, the Art Nouveau former tyre depot at 81 Fulham Road, is where Bosi made his name in London. He and his wife and business partner, Lucy, opened Claude Bosi at Bibendum there in spring 2017 and held two Michelin stars from 2018 until August 2025, when the restaurant closed after the couple could not agree new lease terms with the building's owners, members of the Conran and Hamlyn families.
No name, concept or opening date has been announced for the project that will take its place. The couple have said only that it will build on the French bistro cooking of Josephine, their two restaurants in Chelsea and Marylebone.
Running two postcodes at once
For now, Bosi is effectively winding down one high-profile restaurant while planning another. Brooklands continues service through the rest of 2026, including its Claude & Co guest-chef dinner series, before closing in January.
The Peninsula London has not said whether another operator will take over the rooftop space, which includes a private dining room and a view over Hyde Park Corner. Bosi and Lucy will keep Josephine running throughout the move, even as London's restaurant scene posts record openings and closures in the same year.
Michelin House has had no flagship restaurant of its own since Bibendum's closure last year. Bosi's return gives the building's dining room and oyster bar a reason to reopen, even if diners will have to wait for the details.
